Areas of Expertise
Tor Gresseth main areas of practice are employment law, real estate and environmental issues (working environment, pollution cases etc.)
He advises on all areas of employment law, both individual and collective. He has extensive experience of negotiating and resolving employment disputes of all types, including individual employment protection cases (dismissals with and without notice), restructurings and downsizings, transfers of businesses and cross-border employment contracts.
He also covers all areas of real estate law. His particular area of focus is compulsory purchases and appraisement, planning and building law and property law (including rights of common).
He advises on most areas of environmental law, but specialises in claims for compensation in pollution cases and criminal cases involving possible breaches of the applicable regulations, such as as in the case of accidents at work, emissions, illegal exports etc. In these cases he advises various public supervisory bodies and the police, and also acts as defence counsel in the courts.
He is frequently invited to address audiences on his principal areas of expertise. Tor Gresseth has long and extensive experience as a litigator both before the ordinary courts and before the Labour Court of Norway.
He has right of audience before the Norwegian Supreme Court.
